The pen - one tool, endless possibilities

The pen - one tool, endless possibilities

Georgina Westley

I can't walk past an art shop without going in. I simply can't do it. Many of you reading this may know the feeling. A world of possibilities lurking on every shelf. An opportunity to show the world 'this is who I am - this is what is in my head'. Toys for grown ups.

The next time gravity sucks you into your local art shop have a look for these pens. They're a couple of pounds each and crucially they don't take up too much space. They come in various sizes and I use Uni-Pin fine liners sizes 0.1, 0.2, 0.3 and 0.5. Any paper will do at the beginning but as you progress you will want to get the smoothest paper you can find, although to start off with the back of an envelope really will do. So don't wait for the perfect moment and try not to get hung up on the outcome, just doodle away and accept whatever comes out.
