Please don't close Huddersfield A&E

Georgina Westley
It galls me to think how hard we, the tax paying public, have to fight to save the services that we hold dear to us. We hold them dear to us because they save lives, they save our precious family members, our cherished friends and all those strangers who are friends in waiting. A&E departments save lives. So what do we think happens when we shut them? The result is undeniable. People will die. I am proud to say that my brother and sister-in-law are both paramedics in West Yorkshire and alongside all the other admirable emergency services - despite all the funding cuts - they do an outstanding job trying to keep people safe and well. All over the country ambulance services are struggling. Many are on their knees. Hospitals are at breaking point and junior doctors are spending their already limited energy fighting for their right to keep us safe. It's bonkers. And shameful. So no, please don't close Huddersfield A&E. The government needs to stop taking things away from people and expecting better results. It's delusional. If you agree then please could you take 1 min to sign the petition. Even if you don't live near Huddersfield please show your support, it's much appreciated and who knows, your nearest A&E may be next. DenbyDale_A3HRI
