£12.00£40.00

My modern travel poster of the Jodrell Bank Observatory, part of the Jodrell Bank Centre for Astrophysics at the University of Manchester. It’s home to a number of radio telescopes, including the Lovell Telescope, which is the third largest steerable radio telescope in the world.

Description

For the last few years I have watched Star Gazing Live where Brian, Dara and a whole host of other big brained super humans often broadcast from Jodrell Bank Observatory. Every year I have the same thoughts. Firstly, ‘I wish I had concentrated more in science’ and secondly, ‘I really should do a print of that place, it’s awesome’.

Well, the latter is now done. This is my take on Jodrell Bank featuring the impressive Lovell Telescope. I’ve gone with a 1950’s feel to this print given that was the era the telescope was constructed. I remember recently being wowed by seeing Jupiter, Venus and Mars all shining together one evening so I’ve put those in the print as a little reminder. The eagle eyed amongst you may also spot the ISS whizzing across the sky.

I hope this print appeals to the guys and gals with a sense of wonder, a curious mind and to anyone else that wishes they had paid more attention at school.

Delivery times and backorders

I print A3 and A4 posters to order, and can usually dispatch within 48 hours of an order being placed. I have to order A1 and A2 posters on demand from an external printer, so these take a little longer. You’ll be able to see if I have any of these larger sizes in stock.
