Penshaw Monument Travel Poster

My modern travel poster of the Penshaw Monument (officially The Earl of Durham’s Monument), built in 1844 on Penshaw Hill near Sunderland, North East England.

SKU: penshaw-monument Category: Tags: , ,

Built in 1844 this well loved folly is officially known as The Earl of Durham’s Monument but known locally as Penshaw Monument. It is a replica of the Temple of Hephaestus in Athens and also features on the badge of Sunderland Football Club. A real local treasure.

It now belongs to the National Trust and is a truly wonderful place to enjoy the beautiful countryside. A steady climb will reward you with breathtaking views across the north east where you can watch the sunset, walk your dogs or simply put the world to rights.

Delivery times and backorders

DELAY IN DISPATCHING ORDERS: Please note that I will only being visiting the Post Office once a week while the UK is in lockdown so please only order if you are flexible on timescales. Thank you so much for your understanding and support. Stay safe, with love, Georgina.
